honestly . . .

There is a new girl at work who seems a bit off. The other day at a team lunch we were all talking about the weather. It was one of those weeks in the Lou where it went from 15 degrees and snowing to 50 and sunny in 3 days. So we all were pumped about the weather warming for the weekend and about how spring is just around the corner when NG (new girl) says, "I hate when it gets warm out, it reminds me of global warming."

WHAT! I am sorry? Are you really saying that having seasons, I vital part of of our cycle of life, makes you sad because you think the world is ending? Excuse me? Then NG mentions something about polar bears dying. I thought my fellow coworker was going to choke on his water. He is not a massive believer in the global warming and her ludicrous comment about
the seasons making her sad was a bit to much for him.

Then the icing on the cake came today when I was sitting in the parking lot with another co-worker talking and we see Miss Save the Planet walk out to her car and get into a SUV!

WHAT!?!

And it wasn't one of those better-ish SUVs like the Vue, it was a Pathfinder. A 12 miles per gallon on the highway monster.

People like that make me want to punch them. You tout your views on the world and how we are all killing the planet by shopping at mass retailers yet you drive a freaking gas guzzling emissions beast. Give me a freaking break. If you heard her talk she sounds like she is one of those people who grow their own corn just to make their own ethanol so they can provide fuel for their home made car (which is made of corn stalks).

I really feel like putting a stuffed polar bear on her window and attaching a note that says, 'thanks for killing us.'
