I miss Peter Jennings. The news just isn't the same without him.

Summer vacation thoughts are filling my head and this year I hope to go somewhere great. 2 problems I am facing are lack of travel partner and no clear destination. I think the Galapagos Islands would be fantastic. Then we could swing down and hike the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu. How great would that be? Another thought is Australia. The plane ride frightens me, but if I needed to I would do it. Any thoughts?

Discovery Channel is airing a 6 part series starting Sunday night called Perfect Disaster. I am so pumped. Yes, I know I have this weird love of natural disasters, but they fascinate me. That's all. To me they are so amazing and complex and we do nothing to create them. They form themselves using our living planet. It's so amazing and awesome to me. We should all watch the show. Clearly they will be using our favorite friend in the natural disaster show, the IT COULD ALL HAPPEN TOMORROW! approach, where we are all supposed to go running and screaming and try to stop the damage that we are doing to the Earth. This never really works, although it does humor me when they start talking about it. The announcers voice usually drops and scary music flows lightly in the background. Watch for it, I promise it's there.

It sounds like I am saying that these storms are cool, and they are when they form and don't ruins hundreds of lives. But when things like what happens over the weekend happen, when over 110 tornadoes rip across 3 states, well then they are not so cool. It's incredible to think that 110 tornado's formed in one weekend, but not incredible to think about the damage and destruction that is left behind. But what makes a storm produce that many twisters? I mean, we get storms all the time, why now? I think I like storms and weather in general because it reminds us that we have no control over our lives. We can't stop twisters and hurricanes and tsunami's, we can only be prepared and enjoy the time we have. Kind of a sad view on things. I will work on how to phrase the concept better.

I am not sure what shampoo or conditioner I used, but damn my hair smells good. Living with all girls means a lot of different products in the shower. I will look into it and report back because this is just fantastic.
