It was quite a surprise when I saw a very familiar face staring back at me today. Janet, my darling, has made it to the wall. Congrats on that and please tell me your secret. I must be walled by the time I leave. I am not sure why I am so for my picture being blown up to over life size. But again, it is a long term goal. I will succeed.
Moving on . . .
Week 2 of senior year of college is done. It's been a work hard, play hard year so far. Classes are bit rough and I had a rather large disappointment. See, as an Ad major Senior year I am required to take 2 classes. In the fall I take Ad Research and in the spring Ad Campaign. How it works is this: Every year the American Advertising Association assigns a real life case study to thousands of college students across the US. During Ad Research you are supposed to be researching the study and finding out all the info that one needs to create a valid and good campaign. Then in the spring, you take your hours and hours of sweat, blood and research and make a campaign. Webster offers a competing campaign, to which you go and present your creation in a regional competition, and a non competitive class, where you present to your other classmates. I have been dreaming about what kind of case they will give us and what types of goodies I can do with it. Last year they had Yahoo. Next year they are doing Coca-Cola. This year, we have Postal Vault.
Enter crazy Postal Vault site here
Postal Vault is a not just a mail box, but a security system. As least that is what they say. It is a very odd looking mail box that is theft proof. Some hard core christian in Texas created this product. Go figure. One of the testimonies is the case study that we received said something along the line of, 'now that I have postal vault I don't have to sit on y front porch with my shot gun.' They seriously need help. There press pack talks more about god than the product. I understand that religion is important to some people, but those outside of Texas tend to need more than a person of faith to buy a $600 mailbox. I encourage all of you to take a gander at said box. I will be asking for advise later when we get into the researching part.
Finally this evening I am going to address something that I was asked to do a few weeks ago. Not being in the country and then the ban of activities that awaited me upon return to this fair land, have left me little time. Since I got home today at 6 with nothing planned I figured that now would be a good time. I was tapped for a "what's your bedside look like" thing. It's basically what I wake up to in the morning. I hope you all enjoy this glimpse into my life.

Here is the general overview. The delicious wooden walls in the back, the stero that I bought in 6th grade which almost still works. The selves from Target which are a pain to put up. My morning view is so glorious.

The up close shot of my nightstand. The thing had been in my family for years. We used to have 4 of them, but over time we have given most away. I think that I have the last remaining one. The drawers don't really work that great and there is actually nothing being housed in them at the moment. I went on a cleaning kick a week ago and got rid of everything in the draws. The picture of my dad is one of my favorites. He is on a lawn chair that he brought into the family room because he didnt want to get the new couches dirty. Such a thoughtful man.

Here is the close up note that is on my nightstand. It has been there for 4 years. My sister putit up my senior year of high school. I am not a morning person so this was supposed to scare me into waking up. It never worked, but I like it. It's signed Mr. T.

Here is a close up of self one. It;s my way cool statue from Venice, the glass makers, and a picker of me and Pops at my junior year prom.

This is start of shelf 2. The first thing, the card, I recieved after my dad died. I really like the saying on it. - Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know that they are with us. - Past the card is some motivational phrase I got one Christmas and a ceramic Paris Balloon. It's from the Paris resort in Vegas. It doubles as a cup. Amazing.

Next on the impossble to hang Target self is a picture of my sista and me. It's quite old, I think we were in Playa de Carmen. We look tan so that seems right.

Finally comes my sneezing Precious Moment. Anyone who knows me, knows that I sneeze a lot. A friend of mine always thought my level of sneezing was funny, so one Christmas he gave me this and a box of Kleenex. Clever man.
Have a good weekend.
Be safe.

wow, Jessica, you are the first I've heard this from. It's very nice to hear that my legacy lives on in sverdrup even if I can't be there to appear in the halls every day.
What's my secret? it's all about connections. In this case it my nice college involvement background heavily influenced by my good relationship with Karen Burch, the school videographer/photographer, my senior year. Be on Ampersand Staff next semester and you'll be golden.
Karen is awesome though. And wow, I wonder what they are going to do with my huge ass self after the time on the wall is up?

American advertising federation.. not American advertising association.
you are either getting it confused with the AMA or the AAAA
