This weekend I went to Dublin. It was awesome. I went with John who I had met a few times but dint really know all that well. This frightened me since I was kind of stuck with him the whole weekend, but it turned out to be fantastic. - which was the word of the weekend. He is a mix of my cousin Justin, (Cheers to you) and a friend of mine, named Ricky. It also turns out that he is a frat boy, so my whole 'not a real big drinker' thing I had going to for me got tossed out the window. I will say that if you ever do need to get to kow someone, it is amazing what 4 pints of cider and him having 4 pints of Guiness will do for you.
Needless to say, long live the booze for its friend making potential
Woke up early Saturday kind of feeling like rough, but knowing that there was a city that I needed to show John. Good thing I brought the sunglasses folks cause I would have been hurting if not. The morning we went to Trinity College and Christ Church and made our way to the Guiness factory around 12. Got to the Graivty bar atop the Guiness factory around 1:20 and our pints were down my 1:35. It really is amazing the whole 'hair of the dog' thing. We both felt soo much better after a Guiness pint. It turns out that back in the day, Doctors in Ireland would advise people to take Guiness when they were sick. That's a little Guiness fun fact for all of you people out there.
We then walked over to the Jameson Distillery for a Whiskey tour. I ended up being picked out to go and sample 4 different types of whiskey that Jameson makes and then compare that to a high end scotch and burbon. A sample size of whiskey is not what they gave me. It was more like a jug per item. So by 4 o'clock I had 6 shots of whiskey/scotch/burbon and 1 pint of Guiness. Now time for dinner and some red wine.
It was a crazy afternoon that was followed by an even crazier night. We went back to the same pub that we went to Friday. They have live Irish/Neil Diamonds greatest hits music that starts at 9. So at 6 when we stumbled in there, we had some time to kill. What else was there to do but enjoy some pints. After 3 rounds, some Swedish couple came over to our table and asked if they could join us. The place was packed and there were 2 opened seats at our table. We agreed obviously.
Sofia and Sven(we forgot/can't pronounce his real name, so John & I agreed to refer to him as Sven when talking of the evening) They were so freaking awesome. Not only did they proceed to buy us the next 6 rounds of drinks but he works IT for IKEA, so that automatically makes him awesome. It was a really good time. I will refrain from stroy telling because not only is my head still swimming but also because they wouldnt do the night justice. We departed ways with the Sweds around 1 and walked around the Temple Bar area to try and sober up.
Truth be told, I haven't been drunk in a long time and it was so fantastic. I mean it was just great to laugh and sit and bullshit with people without caring. Ahhhh Dublin . . . .
Yes, well this morning I woke not feeling the best, yet not really that bad off considering everything. I know that tomorrow I am going to feel like shit for many reasons, namely the cider and lack of sleep, but in the end it was oh so worth it.
(deep sigh)
Time for Big Brother and bed.
Dream a good one tonight

I liked the pictures! Finally you put some up so we could see the world. Your readers are happy again.
Glad that you are smiling. I would hate to think that I caused you major distress. I will make pictures more regular. Maybe once a week. If it was anymore than that it would just be pics of me sitting at work. Which isn't as great as me meeting the world and the fun Sweds.
Have some Fritz's for me. We are soooo going to WS when I return. So save your money for that. We know how they jacked the price up.
How'd you know it was me?!? I really thought I'd be anonymous, like the comment-leaving anonymous option led me to believe... also... I've probably been having a lot more Fritz's than I should. But it makes me feel less guilty if I think that I'm eating it for you. Phew... now I can go there tomorrow!
It wasn't that hard to tell it was you. You did identify yourself when the origianl request for more photos was made. I just put the 2 together. I'm a genius, I know.
You can't go to Fritz's. I said so. Also, a mixture of Justin and Ricky is just plain unnacceptable. Justin took my old job at Target and Ricky owes me my goddam copy of Fight Club. Not cool. Seriously. And where in the hell did this "Bisc and Twix" crap come from? What happened to representing Berkeley? What, you can't throw dice and play Spades in England? That's some screwy shit, yo. Maybe I should mail you my Gloc 9. Then you can show those P.O.S. Constables what's up.
Bisc and Twix is the name of an amazing candy bar over here. At home it is called Cookies and Twix and it taste like ass. For some reason only over here is it amazing. Maybe I will change my name to represent my home, but for now, long live the Bisc and Twix.
PS - I still have no idea how to play Spades. You never taught me you arse
