3 cheers for music
Cheer 1: Isn't it great how music can put you in the best mood? You could've just been shot 3 times by your dog and yet, if the right tune came on, you would forget all about the pain and the fact that you really have to pee yet your legs are all shot up, and just sit and smile. I absolutely love how music can do that to me. It's such a simple quick fix to a bad day.
Cheer 2: Isn't it great how hearing a song can bring such vivid memories back? Sometimes the memories are not so good. But a lot of times, songs trigger really fond moments for me. The song could remind me of a person, a specific moment or just a certain time period of my life. I love it when out of the blue a song comes on the whisks me away to someplace other then doing freight at work.
Cheer 3: Isn't it great how there is a song for everything? It doesn't matter what has happened, there is a song out there for it. Something will fit right into the current moment. I sometimes wish I had a sound guy follow me around all day playing songs that fit the current scene. That would rock. I am sure it would also be annoying to those around me. But hey, maybe I will get headphones.
I have been really into eating cereal these days. It's like cereal eating to the extreme. My cereal kicks come and go, its been about 3 years since I have been in such a strong mood. I am talking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, and linner. My cereal of choice these days in a homemade concoction I like to call "Yummy." I take Honey Nut Cheerios and add Crispx to them. Mix it together, add some milk, find a spoon and we are all systems go for launch. I created this bowl of "yummy" when I was younger. My dad was a hard core Honey Nut Cheerios guy, while my Mom enjoyed herself some Crispx. I am assuming that how I actually got the idea to combine them had something to due with both boxes being at the end and me wanting a full bowl of cereal. I was a genius that day.
I watched this very interesting piece done on the Discovery channel yesterday. It was called, "Does Europe hate us?" I recommend everyone taking a gander at it. Whether we like to admit it or not, we are living in a global time and it is not good enough anymore to just know what is going on in our little corner of the world. Things that happen in India or Iran can have a bearing on our everyday lives. For example, I am sure that we all have noticed our wallets a little lighter these days due to a soar in gas prices. While a lot of the reason for the jump is the trouble in the Middle East, we should also note that it has to do with how China is now consuming more oil then ever before. China is rapidly becoming the largest gas consuming nation.
I have this theory though, that Chinese gas consumption will drop dramatically in coming years due the fact that they created the grail of all hybrid cars. Whereas we just kind of sit here and take it up the ass, they are probably working diligently to find a new way to fuel a car.
Also I am going to recommend watching the Discovery Channel's "Super Volcano" movie-ish thing that is playing on Sunday. I am super pumped. I have to work that night, but obviously I will tape it and watch when I get home.
I think that I am going to put on "Verses" by Kings of Convenience and dream of one day being able to vote for a Santos/McGarry-esque ticket.
Goodnight all -
